Randy Santel and Nathan Klein Take on Dog Central’s Famous Hot Dog Challenge

Randy Santel recently traveled to Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, for the first time to add to his growing list of worldwide food challenge wins. Santel currently has over 1,000 food challenge wins across the United States and the world.

In 2010, he won a Men's Health/Spartacus Body Transformation Challenge and started doing food challenges shortly after.

Nathan Klein started his food challenge journey in 2018, securing over 130 food challenge wins in four years. He recently had two of his food challenge videos go viral on YouTube and make local Michigan news.

The two are meeting up for the first time at Dog Central in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. They are each taking on the restaurant's Dog Central (DC) Challenge.

The Dog Central (DC) Challenge

  • The challenge includes three footlong hot dogs topped with chili and your choice of two additional toppings, fries, an onion ring stack, and a 20 oz. drink.

  • Over 275 people have failed this challenge. There have been 13 winners, including Nathan Klein. Nathan first finished this challenge with a time of 16m:09s. He will be taking it on for a second time, while Randy will be attempting this challenge for the first time.

  • Winners who take down this challenge in the 25-minute time limit get the meal free, a t-shirt, $10 cash, and go up on the coveted wall of fame. If you fail this challenge, you have to fork up $25 and accept defeat.

This food challenge was a treat to watch. Randy and Nathan give their all and showcase their talents to those watching in-person and online. They both came prepared and didn't back down from this monster of a food challenge. It's clear that they both implemented Randy's classic strategy: Win Before You Begin. We'll be watching and waiting for the next collaboration featuring this powerful eating duo. We can't wait to see what they take on next!
