Colossal Food Challenges: Big Mama's and Papa's Pizzeria

With so many ways you can order a pizza, it has become a food favorite of many and one of the most ordered foods in the world. It always helps me when I watch my favorite tv series at 3 a.m. and hunger strikes.

So, this got me thinking after snacking on a delicious piece of pizza one night. What is one of the biggest pizza challenges ever?

Well, I'm here to answer that question for you.

For this challenge, we're taking a look at Big Mama's and Papa's Pizzeria in Burbank, California, and their 54"x54" Grand Sicilian Pizza Challenge.

Big Mama’s & Papa’s 54"x54" Grand Sicilian Pizza Challenge

If you have been following our Colossal Food Challenges series, you'll notice that we only discuss giant food challenges. This challenge is no exception. We're talking about a massive pizza challenge. That's right, this challenge is not only a team challenge, but it is one of the largest we have ever seen.

Here's the rundown:

• You and up to seven other people have two hours to test your appetite and take down the pizza.

• This behemoth weighs 50 pounds and measures 54"x54." Your team gets to choose the toppings, and the pizza can be cut into 1/4's if requested. It clocks in at over 30,000 calories.

• If successful, your team will get $1000 cash and the meal on the house. Oh yeah, you can also brag to your friends and family. You really don't want to lose, however. The price tag for this pizza costs a whopping $218!

I have been examining colossal food challenges for quite some time now. Big Mama's and Papa's Pizzerias' Grand Sicilian Pizza Challenge is in the top three on my massive (and delicious-looking) food challenges list. My favorite part about this challenge is that no matter what, it is a fun challenge that gets a team of people together to have fun and eat some delicious pizza.
